VIDEO: Race to save Japan’s lost satellite

Scientists and engineers in Japan are scrambling to save a satellite and more than a quarter of a billion dollars of investment tumbling out of control in space.

The Hitomi satellite, which is reliant on solar energy, has disappeared, but scientists hope it can still be recovered.

The satellite only launched last month.
